About me

Natty Kay | 27 December 1998 | She/Her

Hi! I’m Natty Kay. I’m an illustrator, writer and occasional comic artist!
I have been drawing since childhood, but started to take it seriously as a teenager. Many of my original characters were created when I was in middle and high school, and I've been writing my own stories around that time as well.

I hold a BFA in Sequential Art and minor in Creative Writing from the Savannah College of Art and Design, and a Masters in Creative Writing, Publishing and Editing from the University of Melbourne.

I take inspiration from several things, from my experiences as a third culture kid to the music I grew up with. My biggest influences (and inspirations) however, are rock music, alternative subcultures, gangster films, film noir, high and low fantasy and comics of all kinds.

When I'm not drawing, I'm either writing or making music. For my fiction writing, head to the 'Fiction Writing Portfolio' button. For my blog, where I post various creative non-fiction pertaining to my nerdy and un-nerdy interests, head to the 'Blog' page (both open in new windows)
